Couples Behavioral Therapy

In couples behavioral therapy, I work with both of you together to shift patterns that keep you stuck in criticism, withdrawal, or painful distance. Early sessions focus on understanding your cycle: what gets triggered, how each of you reacts, and what you are both longing for underneath the fights. 


I then teach step-by-step communication skills, including how to "fight fair," make clear requests, and repair after arguments. We address specific behaviors that damage trust and practice new ones that support safety and closeness, including rebuilding emotional and physical intimacy when it has faded or been ruptured. This approach helps partners move from blame to teamwork. Sessions are held via secure telehealth for couples living in Hawaii.
